Great podcast. HPV also causes throat cancer & people that have had oral with more than 5 partners are at high risk.

Hmmmm thought provoking oh mighty Bruce
Not only are you choosing a subject that creates a level of disturbance you are using it to explore the activity of acceptance, very interesting (best Frued voice) not sure if spell Frued like that but never mind.
I say the activity of acceptance and I mean it quite literally we do acceptance we behave in a manner that is accepting and we have acceptance to say we accept and have acceptance are very different indeed.
You use the ‘external’ drama to explore the acceptance we need to recover from the hell that was our reality?
This external directly relates with the internal level of acceptance. If like me, you have that perpetual checking and assessing of each millisecond of your life then you will understand. Acceptance like beauty is an inside job.
I stand and look at the truth and just stay still for if I move just tiny bit the internal drama starts all over again. My ego does not want to look does not want to accept responsibility refuses to admit defeat. But my sober guide, my new self is stronger and is calm and loving and patient waiting for the internal dialogue to subside holding me before it can move on.
This new internal self is so very much more interesting than the teenager who is kicking the tyre. She is intelligent and welcoming and fearless and very, very curious about you all. She is a warrior of light and looks to heal those that come into her world. Don’t get me wrong I often kick the tyre, both inside and outside of myself but the moments of maturity I have felt are worthy of the acceptance of the stubborn aspects of me that are quiet frankly ridiculously funny.
So I guess while you describe the parable of understanding through the disease of you little fella J. I am living it right alongside you so thanks for the reassurance and the fellowship.
When i am at peace with my past and accept who I am right now I am free and I am loved and I am at point of understanding.
This might seem all words and rambles to some but I know there are those who are right here with me and will get it so to you I say Hi and wave and hug because this to shall pass

This was a thought provoking podcast. It seems there is much hype on this subject lately. You mention people in your community were aware of when some women had this disease.
It is pretty “wow” that others would be aware of someone’s ailments but I guess people do talk.
There are other diseases out there and this one is probably the least of the life threatening but yes, could become so for a woman. It seems HPV is really prevalent as so many women I know have had to deal with the cervical issue. It seems this was a “sleeping” devil for quite sometime.
It’s good you report on things that are common and out there for us to learn about. It really brings awareness for those of us who have not had to deal with something like this YET, but it seems from your information, we all will have to at some point, unless we are virgins.
Just another reason awareness is very important. Once one can be accountable, anything, even HPV, is not as scary. It’s our decisions today and choices that make a difference! Thank you for opening our eyes and almost downplaying this common STD.
